Why do kids grow out of clothes so fast?
I promise as soon as I clean out my kid’s closets it’s time to do it again. They are forever growing, and my bank account is not! Over the years I’ve shopped for both of my kids at various big box stores, so I wanted to bring you a few of my go-to places.
-
Old Navy
When I started college Old Navy was my first place of employment which is where I was introduced to adjustable waist bottoms for kids. With my 5’3 and a quarter self I never expected to have children who ran on the taller side but here we are. The adjustable waist is a lifesaver for just this reason. This allows you to buy the bigger size and still get the fit at the waist you need. Plus, with Old Navy, I can usually grab a mommy and me look too.
2. Carters
My relationship with Carters is downright disrespectful with the amount of money that I spend and save. From their clothing that ranges from Preemie to size 14 to their rewards program which lets you earn points to get $10 off coupons to use on your next purchase automatically connected to your account. They also have an adjustable waist, toys, underwear, and shoes for the kids.

3. Target
If you’ve been here a while you know I love Target and shopping, there for kid’s clothing is always a win. They have a line called Cate and Jack which is top tier. If your child outgrows the clothing, it rips or tears within the first year you can take it back with your receipt and exchange or get your money back. Before you say I’ll never remember the receipt make sure you have Target circle and input it every time in-store or making online purchases. Your receipts are connected to your account and easy to search for returns. I just did this a few months back for my daughter who outgrew her pants in 9 months. (Highly recommend) Only downside since they track everything by the skew number it’s rare that I can do this with my son since I end up cutting out most of his clothing tags for sensory reasons.
4. Shoe Carnival
Adding a favorite shoe spot because we can’t have clothes without shoes right? What I love about shoe carnival is that it has shoes for everyone and just about every season. Back to school is always my favorite time to shop for their buy 1 get 1 50% off deal. This is again another great place to grab a mommy and me duo or trio if you’re lucky.

5. H&M
With spring/summer upon us in Florida you can never buy shorts and bathing suits too early so when H&M had a sale a few weeks back I jumped on the opportunity to grab my kid’s entire wardrobes. The best part about this store is you can buy just about anything to complete the look. I restoked on shirts, shorts, and undergarments and even grabbed a hat or two for my son.
