So you finally took the plunge and planned a trip to Disney or maybe bought the coveted annual pass and now you are wondering what to wear.
Well, I got you covered. This is all based on trial and error on my part being a Disney mom the last five years took some figuring out on what I wanted my style to be when heading to the parks but I finally found a healthy balance.
If you’re planning a trip to the most magical place on earth, you’re probably wondering what to wear. While you want to look cute for those Instagram-worthy snaps, you also want to be comfortable enough to spend the whole day riding rides, meeting characters, and exploring the parks. Here are some tips on what to wear to Disney World.
Comfortable Shoes are a Must
When it comes to what shoes to wear to Disney World, comfort is key! You’ll be walking a lot, so ditch the high heels and opt for comfortable sneakers, sandals, or flats. Choose shoes that have good support and that you’ve already broken in so that you don’t end up with blisters halfway through the day. And if you’re worried about getting your shoes wet on water rides, bring a spare pair of shoes or wear shoes that dry quickly, like Crocs or flip-flops. I love my Teva sandals, they are strappy and comfortable for those 20+ K step days. A nice warn in a pair of tennis shoes or even flip flops if that is your comfort level. Here are a few of my fan favorites to wear.

Cute and Casual Clothes
Disney World is all about fun, so why not dress the part? Opt for cute and casual clothes that are comfortable and lightweight. You can never go wrong with a pair of denim shorts and a graphic tee or tank top. If you’re looking for something a little more stylish, try a sundress or a romper. And don’t forget to accessorize with a pair of Minnie ears or a cute Disney-themed backpack. When we first started going I was more concerned with what the kids wore than myself but this is your trip too you deserve to look stylish and have fun too. If you wear a dress a nice pair of biker shorts underneath is never a bad idea. Even better if you want to take a cute pic but don’t want to be dolled up all day, bring a change of clothes in your travel bag to dress it back down and maybe a matching tee with the family or friends.
Stay Cool and Hydrated
Florida can get pretty hot and humid, especially during the summer months, so make sure you dress for the weather. Choose lightweight and breathable fabrics like cotton and linen that will keep you cool and comfortable. And don’t forget to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. A great accessory would be a cooling towel or rechargeable fan. Disney allows outside food and drinks so pack some water, maybe fruit, and don’t forget they have cool treats all through the park you can grab on the go.
Dress for the Occasion
While there’s no dress code at Disney World, it’s always fun to dress up for special occasions. If you’re visiting during Halloween or Christmas, consider wearing a costume or festive attire. And if you’re celebrating a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary, wear a fun t-shirt or a button to let everyone know. And if you are like me grab a dress and a pair of matching ears to make the entire outfit sing. Adults can’t wear costumes in the parks but Disney Bounding like your favorite character has become very popular. This is where you take the general color or idea of a character and dress like them—creating a subtle nod to the character while also still being able to dress up. On my last trip, I wanted to give a nod to Minnie for my birthday and wore a polka dot dress and ears.
In conclusion, what to wear to Disney World is all about finding the perfect balance between comfort and style. Opt for comfortable shoes, cute and casual clothes, and stay cool and hydrated throughout the day. You don’t have to buy something new to venture into the parks. Check your closet, grab a tank top, or find your favorite Disney content creator for some inspo. And don’t forget to add some Disney flair with Minnie ears or a fun backpack. Have a magical day at the most magical place on earth!
XOXO,
