Schools out… now what?
Honestly? I’m not 100 percent sure. Many of us are returning to working in the office and after two years home with my kids creating summer fun around the house while I worked well…
One thing for sure is I want to explore our city and other places nearby so for our first weekend of Summer we visited Savannah, GA and we found some great spots to see especially with kids.
This and many other must-see locations are within walking distance of the Savannah welcome center. We got to go on a train ride including a turn styler and hear the history of the Georgia railroad. We train hopped and learned hobo signs.
2. The Children’s Museum
Connected to the railroad museum this open concept museum incorporates all things play and interactive. It has two levels and two slides, stairs, and a handy-accessible lift to go down to the second level. My favorite part was the maze but the kids enjoyed the misting station to cool down on this hot summer day.
3. Leopold’s Ice Cream
This is a must-stop tourist attraction and worth the walk. We got to explore historical Savannah as we made our way to grab ice cream. The wait is a little long but for a tasty local treat who can say no?
4. Debi’s Restaurant
Who doesn’t love eating local? We found this underground gem on our second day and ate breakfast for lunch. Brunch with kids 🙂 My son devoured his pancake which we got to order a la carte instead of the entire meal, perfect for pint-size stomachs.
5. Jepsen’s Center for the Arts
When you think of Museums you don’t always think of a place for kids but this museum has entire spaces dedicated to kids interacting and creating their own art. You’ll want to start on the top floor and work your way down for the best experience; make sure your phone is fully charged and be creative tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed.
This list just names a few of the stops we made this weekend. We also took a trip and stayed on Tybee Island so be on the lookout for that content coming soon. We stayed at the cutest motel and I can’t wait to share all the details because if you’re looking for a low-key but a great place to stay I have just the ticket.
Until then,
XOXO,

I like how you took me on a tour of certain spots to checkout when we eventually go to visit.
