Fall in Florida: Family Fun at Geiger Pioneer Farm
It’s that time of year again when we dust off our favorite flannels, sip pumpkin spice treats, and take all the cozy fall photos. I know — what do Floridians know about fall? Not much! But we sure love to pretend, and the local pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and fall festivals make it easy to get into the spirit.
Discovering Geiger Pioneer Farm
This year, I decided to check out a new spot — Geiger Pioneer Farm, located off Dunn Avenue in Jacksonville. It’s a small, family-owned tree farm that transforms into a fun fall destination.
Open on Saturdays and Sundays, it’s perfect for busy families (especially those juggling fall sports like mine!). Admission is $15.99 per person, and kids 3 and under are free.
The staff made everything simple, from parking to ticket check-in. They were friendly and easy to find throughout the farm, ready to help or answer questions.

All the Things to Do
We kicked off our day with the crop maze, then made our way to the playground area to try the giant Connect Four and jungle gym. The kids loved the swings and barrels of corn before our tractor ride (which was a big hit!).
Since Geiger is still new, the crowds were small — a huge bonus for families with little ones. Even with a bit of rain, we had a blast.
After the tractor ride, we explored a mini maze perfect for smaller kids and met the cutest baby goat while grabbing snacks from the concession stand. Pro tip: try their dirty sodas — we sampled two, and both were amazing!

Let’s Blow Some Bubbles
The surprise favorite of the day? The bubble barn! I don’t know what they put in those buckets, but the bubbles were incredible. The kids couldn’t get enough — and honestly, neither could I. With several bubble tools available, everyone had fun making and popping giant bubbles together.

The Pumpkin Patch
Of course, we saved the best for last — the pumpkin patch! This is always my favorite part of any fall festival. The kids and I loved picking out our pumpkins — not the perfect ones, but the quirky, unique ones with personality.
We even found a funny-shaped pumpkin that looked like a strawberry! The plan? To paint it and dress it up for Halloween.
Final Thoughts
All in all, our first trip to Geiger Pioneer Farm was a great experience. If they reopen next year, we’ll definitely be back. It’s an affordable, fun, and close-to-home fall festival — perfect for Jacksonville families looking to celebrate the season.
If you’re searching for a fall festival in Jacksonville’s backyard, this one’s for you. 🍂
Until next time,
