OMG, can you believe it? I’ve officially kept a tiny human alive for an entire decade!  My daughter just hit the big 1-0, and let me tell you, navigating the preteen world is like diving into uncharted territory. Gone are the days of princesses and unicorns; now it’s all about finding that perfect vibe.

I’ve been trying to get a read on her style for months, but it’s been a struggle. She’s all “IDK” and “Whatever” lately, giving off major preteen vibes. Her room has basically been frozen in time since she was 5 or 6, filled with character blankets and toys. So, I suggested a room refresh, and surprisingly, she was into it!

Now, y’all know I’m all about finding the best deals without breaking the bank. So, instead of hitting up the stores, we went on an online shopping spree, thanks to our BFF Amazon. I’ve linked everything here for you. Here’s how we nailed her bedroom refresh without blowing our budget:

1. Check for Essentials: First things first, we took stock of what she needed. She had blinds, but she wanted curtains. We found the cutest ones with star cutouts in pink! Oh, and can’t forget the curtain rod – snagged that gem for $12 at HomeGoods.
2. Pick a Color Scheme: This part was a bit tricky, but after some debate, she settled on purple and pink. Easy peasy, right? It surprisingly tied everything together like magic.
3. Add Some Flair: Who says you can’t add a rug to a carpeted room? We threw in a cute little circle rug that not only tied the room together but also gave her a cozy spot to chill and do her thing – whether it’s reading, painting her nails, or dominating on her Switch. 4. Shop Around (Even Online!): Okay, okay, we skipped this step, but usually, I’m all about hunting for deals. Whether it’s Amazon, Target, or Walmart, I’m always on the lookout for the best bang for my buck!
5. Stay True to You: Most importantly, it’s all about staying true to her style. Who cares what anyone else thinks? It’s her space, and as long as she loves it, that’s all that matters. Own it, girl!

In total, we only spent $80 to give her room a major glow-up from kiddo to preteen, and let me tell you, the look on her face when she saw the final result? Priceless.  Oh, and those balloons?
