Let’s Brunch

You’ve said it 100 times seeing a new place in town “oh I’m going to take my friends there” and then you forget, time passes, and a new spot shows up.  Don’t worry I stopped by a few places in town and curated this shortlist for you.

1. Ida Claire

10209 Rivercoast Dr. Jacksonville, Fl 32246

Located in the town center their biscuits are mouth-watering. They have seasonal jams that set the stage for a delicious treat and the best is their frozen flights to accompany your brunch special. The atmosphere is friendly and very laid back with no rush to clean your plate for the next party. They also have a fun caravan that’s perfect for photo opps.

2. Mellow Mushroom

3611 St. Johns Ave. Jacksonville, Fl 32205

The best mimosas. This one I cannot take credit for but thanks to an old boss if you love mimosas this is the place for you. I was told it’s all about the champagne and they have the formula down pat. The best part you can get typical brunch items or a yummy pizza. I suggest going to the Avondale location since they have more seating for larger parties.

3. Silkie’s

1602 Walnut St. Jacksonville, Fl 32206

Nestled in Springfield this little spot packs a big punch. You’ll want to get there early to beat the rush and get your pick of seats either inside the cafe, bar area, or outside the garden(depending on the weather.) The staff is so friendly and helpful. You have the choice between a cocktail flight or a mimosa flight both are amazing. I grabbed the Florida chicken and waffles and it did not disappoint.

4. Uptown Kitchen

1303 N Main St. Jacksonville, Fl 32206

The irony of Uptown Kitchen being downtown is not lost on me but the food is a must. The menu ranges from shrimp and grits to fried green tomatoes and avocado toast. They have a small seating area outside and more seating inside for bigger parties. No reservations just show up and get your name on the list for a table. A full bottle of champagne when ordering mimosas around the table to make as strong or light as you want. Everyone can find something to eat on this menu

5. Say so  sweets

11757 Beach Blvd Ste.3 Jacksonville, Fl 32246

If you’re planning a meet-up with just a girlfriend or two this intimate bakery is the spot. located off beach blvd close to the town center the menu is just as vibrant as the staff. They have pancakes, waffles, and brunch specials but my favorite is anything Ube. Not just a brunch spot the kids love all the baked goods and anytime we head to the beach we stop for a treat or two. They have a parent restaurant Marianas Grinds that has a full brunch menu that I am hoping to check off the list for a visit this year.

Honorable Mentions:

Tepeyolot Beer

2130 Kings Avenue, Jacksonville, Fl 32207

I say honorable mention because I am not a beer girl but Tepeyolot has my heart with their tacos, burritos, and sauces. This is a great spot for brunch, watching the game, and general good time. Go for brunch, on a date, or any of their special events. They love supporting the local community.

Do yourself a favor and check out one of these spots for your next brunch date you won’t regret it. As life gets more hectic I realize I have to schedule things I really want to do and if that’s you just do it. Reach out to your friends to coordinate a date and time, send a calendar invite, or create a Facebook event to keep it on your radar and go have fun. Sounds silly to schedule fun but hey all work and no play or however that saying goes. Grabs some friends, grab some brunch and have an amazing day.

XOXO,
